udev and out of order hotplug events
Fumitoshi Ukai: the problem is not udev but the buggy kernel shipped with sarge, so I promptly merged your bug with #297481 and the five others reported so far.
The annoying part of this is that the debian-kernel people have not replied to it, not even to say "this will not be fixed". I'd really like to see this fixed in the default sarge kernel, because using udevsend as the hotplug multiplexer is an important feature which solves many problems with the hotplug subsystem.
This week end I worked on a new ppp package which will fix a few bugs, but some users also reported a regression in my last upload which I have not been able to reproduce.
