tales of a debian maintainer

This month's annoying architecture is... mipsel!

Thanks to the release managers I do not need anymore to bitch about doorstop architectures blocking the release process, because since today britney will ignore mipsel until it will be fixed. Apparently some of the mipsel buildds are broken and in a week time they have not been able to build either of my two high priority uploads of udev (which fix some annoying bugs). I even tried manually building the package on one of our machines, but I wasted my time because fakeroot does not work on mipsel so I could not do anything uself.

Finally the mutt upstream maintainer started merging patches again. This means that we will upload soon a new package with an important fix for sarge and then we will package the new upstream release and have a less intimidating number of patches to manage. (But no, please do not start requesting for your pet patch to be added, because it will not.)

Updated packages: gup, netbase, nothing worth noticing. Still not updated packages: hotplug.

I recently discovered why my Firefox requires using ctrl-num instead of alt-num to switch among tabs: the cause is the Tabbrowser Extensions. This is a big problem, because I do not know how to fix it nor I cannot remove it as it is critical to my productivity.
