On the influence of canonical

If releasing sarge were so easy, why the people eager to release don't do it on their own? If Canonical did it is must be easy, isn't it? Anyway, releases which happen every two years are not usefult to me, so I keep using unstable where I can and started suggesting to other people to evaluate Ubuntu.

Yesterday I started working again on the ppp package, and as usual it's a pain. Many of the bugs reported cannot be reproduced by a third party, and being alone with only a basic knowledge of the protocol means that I'm very nervous when merging new patches. Will somebody sponsor me the Carlson PPP design book? It does not cost much... :-)
